MovieStarPlanet is looking for an experienced and talented Social Game Designer to join our rapidly growing team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop new ideas and designs to be implemented in future releases of MovieStarPlanet, or one of our other projects, ensuring the continued success and growth of the social game.

About The Job
You are a highly creative and organized team-player that understands the core mechanics of social games and social networks. You are capable of developing strong designs from scratch and overseeing it all the way into production and release, ensuring the highest possible quality. You excel at creating original, inspiring designs that strike the perfect balance of value and effort.

You will be given a large amount of freedom and responsibility in your day-to-day work, which includes concept and design development, development coordination and quality assurance. You are motivated by the ongoing challenges of game development, are self-directed and pro-active in your work, and enjoy working in a complex environment amongst talented colleagues across several disciplines.

You will be joining an international team, working within an agile development context and collaborating tightly with all disciplines. You enjoy working in a vibrant and dynamic setting, where your day-to-day tasks will often vary, and you are able to maintain a high-level overview of the situation and undertake several responsibilities at a time.


  • Create and research new and innovative ideas and concepts.
  •  Develop visual, comprehensible and easy-to-read design documents.
  • Communicate your vision and design to your colleagues.
  • Oversee the implementation of your design and ensure the highest possible quality.
  • Monitor user behaviour and analyse game trends to build foresight.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience working professionally as a game designer, preferably working with games in the online space.
  • A passion for games, especially social and casual games, and the game development process.
  • A strong understanding of core social game mechanics, and game design in general.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated by the goal to create the best new features.
  • Great communication skills – written and verbally – to communicate your vision and designs clearly.
  • A team-player that enjoys solving complex challenges with talented peers.
  • Ability to analyse designs from an entertainment, usability and economic perspective.
  • Experience with game or software productions, including the ability to maintain a project overview and continuously coordinate with your team.
  • Knowledge and experience with game design documentation, including visualisation tools such as Photoshop.
  • BA or higher degree in a relevant field of expertise is a plus.

MovieStarPlanet ApS is the company behind the games and social networks MovieStarPlanet, BooniePlanet and BlockStarPlanet targeted for kids aged 8-13 years. In the virtual worlds, users design their own MovieStar, BlockStar or Boonie avatar, which is used to play the games and have fun with friends.

Some of the key features include dress-up, chat with friends, create looks, make movies and scrapbooks, design clothes, build worlds and prefabs and play mini-games.
